Federico De Iure is an Orthopedic surgeon and Spine surgeon, Chief of the Spine Surgery Department at Ospedale Maggiore 1st level Trauma Centre in Bologna, Italy. He is adjunct professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Bologna University. He is Consultant Spine surgeon and a member of the scientific committee at Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute. He is also Consultant Spine surgeon at Ospedale Civile di Imola and Policlinico S.Orsola di Bologna.

Born in Bologna in 1967, he graduated from Bologna medical school in 1991. He did his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Institute in Bologna and at the Spine Deformity Centre in Pietra Ligure (SV). In 1997 he entered as senior member the Spine Surgery staff of Stefano Boriani, dedicating most of the activity to primary spine tumors. In 2010 he became Chief of the Spine Surgery department at Ospedale Maggiore. Most relevant stages abroad include European Surgical Institute in Hamburg (Prof. Rosenthal), Institute Mutualist Montsouris in Paris (Prof. Mazel), SRH Klinikum in Karlsbad (Prof. Harms), Washington University in St. Louis (Dr. Lenke).

Scientific activity includes over 140 publications on national and international reviews (67 of which indexed on Pubmed) and 300 lectures. H-index: 23; Citations > 2.5K. He is a reviewer for Spinal Cord, Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research, Indian Journal of Orthopedics.
